Consciousness-based therapy recognizes that healing can happen on many levels - not only cognitively but also emotionally, spiritually and symbolically. Through talk therapy, mindfulness and occasionally-guided work with altered states such as ketamine sessions, client-initiated psilocybin experiences or other altered states of consciousness, we invite awareness beyond everyday thinking.

The goal is not to chase extraordinary experiences, but to use them as mirrors for self-understanding and growth.

Altered states can be accessed through many pathways: deep relaxation, breathwork, meditation, dreams and sometimes through substances that expand perception (like psilocybin, ketamine or ayahuasca).

Heather’s work is less about the method and more about how we meet what emerges - the imagery, emotions and meanings carried by the unconscious mind. Their role is to help you understand and integrate those experiences safely and therapeutically.

Yes. Ketamine is an FDA-approved medicine used off-label for depression, anxiety and trauma in therapeutic contexts. Heather collaborates with a licensed medical provider who handles all medical screening and administration. They provide the psychotherapeutic component - preparation, emotional support during sessions and post-session integration - to ensure that insight translates into real-world change.

Integration is the process of weaving insights into everyday life. Whether a client’s expansion comes from ketamine-assisted work or a psychedelic journey taken elsewhere, integration sessions help to translate experiences into emotional health and grounded living.

We focus on:

• reflecting on symbols or imagery that have appeared

• understanding emotional releases and/or breakthroughs

• identifying changes that clients want to embody as they move forward

Integration is where the mystical becomes practical.

Three or more preparation sessions are scheduled before any altered-state experience. Heather will help you explore intention, expectations, mindset and safety - ensuring that you approach the experience with clarity and respect.

Preparation work is important to avoid being overwhelmed during the experience and can greatly enhance meaning-making afterward.

No. In therapy with Heather, you will remain fully conscious and self-directed. When ketamine is involved, a medical professional will oversee dosing and safety, while Heather stays grounded as your companion, alongside you throughout the process.

For clients exploring psilocybin on their own, all direct use will occur elsewhere, and the therapy with Heather will be purely conversational and reflective.

Absolutely not. Many clients never engage with “medicine work” at all. Heather offers traditional psychotherapy, consciousness-based counseling and dream exploration that can reach the same depths of insight without substances of any kind. Altered states are only one door among many ways to access your healing.

No. While Heather works with licensed medical professionals in their work with ketamine, they do not supply, administer or supervise psilocybin in any form. Their role is to support clients who independently and legally chose to work with psilocybin on their own.

They provide preparation sessions to help clarify intention and ensure safety, and integration therapy afterward to explore the emotions, symbols or insights that may have surfaced.

Many psychedelic “journey center” models focus on the experience itself - music, visuals and the novelty of the trip. Heather’s work is rooted in psychological meaning and emotional integration. Their aim is therapeutic depth - helping people understand altered states rather than simply have them.

No particular belief system is assumed. Heather’s work honors both scientific understanding and spiritual curiosity while staying inclusive and client-directed. You choose your framework - psychological, symbolic or spiritual - and Heather meets you there.

Absolutely. Safety begins with honest assessment. Ketamine sessions are medically supervised; other altered-state explorations are discussed beforehand to evaluate readiness, mental health history and one’s support systems. If a planned experience doesn’t seem safe or appropriate for you, Heather will guide you toward alternatives.
